WHAT IS RUMINATING POET PRESS, AND WHO IS MARC THOMAS?

Marc Thomas is an independent author and poet living in Savannah, Georgia.

You can learn about his HAIKU IN THE PARK project on the page devoted to that.

On most Saturdays, if it is not raining, you can find him in Forsyth Park offering to teach Haiku, selling his books, and happily talking about poetry and other things to anyone who stops by.

After getting to know some independent authors, he has decided to be his own publisher, and has established RUMINATING POET PRESS to do just that, publish and sell his own poetry.

His first two books of poetry were both published through Monte Ceceri Publishers in 2024.

His third book was published in 2025 through his own imprint, Ruminating Poet Press.  It is  based on his COVID poems from his second book and is titled Listening to the Survivors

In 2025, his latest two books came out together on July 31.

Wetlands: Low Country Haiku, is a collection of poems about the land, waters and animals of the Georgia Low Country, marshes, the city of Savannah, its culture, its people, and especially of Forsyth Park, and his adventures teaching haiku in the park

Poems of Resistance is a short book of poems designed to be easy reading, but hard thinking, about what we can do in our current political situation.

You can learn more about him at the BIOGRAPHY page.
